Batch of 87 - Class with Purpose

P.S.Senior is a CBSE school nestled in the heart of Chennai, in Mylapore. A group of enthusiastic children who graduated from this great institution in 1987, we want to give back to society by channeling the collective best of our abilities, resources and our relationships. This is our initiative.

We are a 100% voluntary group and our members come from all walks of life. Many of us have founded or serve on  boards of leading non-profit organizations. Still more of us have abiding lifelong commitments to several societal causes as supporters, volunteers and leaders. We believe in keeping a persistent ear to the unmet needs in society - specifically of certain people, communities and groups who get left behind in general and more acutely during disasters. Our goal is to continuously look for who is challenged and what their needs would be, before they arise or swiftly as they do, to provide targeted and timely help.

We aim to coordinate the strengths we have in our diverse professional lives, our experience supporting different social causes and our influential networks to help underserved people overcome these challenges. We plan to achieve this by building and sustaining strong human and technology networks that are driven to translate resources and will into precise, and impactful programs for societal action. We have focused our initiative where we believe it will be most effective - on communities in and around the Chennai area of Tamil Nadu.

LAUNCH OF OUR FIRST CAMPAIGN ON 15.05.21

To Support the Under Privileged and the Needy  Friends InDeed in association with Sukrtam Foundation has launched a month long (from 15th May 21 to 15 June 21) to collect funds and distribute essential kits in around the vicinity of Chennai. The funds will be collected via Sukrtam Foundation and used to provide essential kits to daily wage earners and under- privileged people have been badly affected due to the current lockdowns. How to begin (and never stop) to understand your true worth?

Eighteen months ago I crossed my fifty-year mark. This is usually a time for stock-taking, reflection and hopefully growth; the body and diet put on some regimen to manage aging, the mind primed to accept some frailty and the spirit freed to explore new things. It did not exactly go that way. The body and senses were stuck in some indulgent gear while the mind and spirit wallowed in old comforts. Why? Upon reflection I attribute my behavior to how I estimated my value. I measure my worth like wealth. In this perspective, my worth is what I have accrued and what I am owed. Of course I see my material wealth too as part of my worth. I see them as tangible values that are cumulated or drained - like inventories.
